About Us
The SNCO “Republican Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center” (SNCO “RVSPLSC”), operating under the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, was established in its current form pursuant to Decision No. 631-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated 5 May 2011 and is the legal successor of the SNCO “Republican Veterinary Anti-Epidemic and Diagnostic Center.”
According to Decision No. 103-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated 13 January 2005, the main subject and objectives of the organization’s activities are:
- laboratory diagnosis of animal diseases, including diseases of birds, fur-bearing animals, fish and bees;
- organization of examinations of products and raw materials of animal origin;
- implementation of seromonitoring;
- conducting serological examinations;
- detection within the territory of the Republic of Armenia of plant quarantine organisms, diseases and weeds.
Under the same Decision, the SNCO “RVSPLSC” was authorized to carry out the following types of entrepreneurial activities:
- veterinary-sanitary examination of products and raw materials of animal and plant origin;
- diagnosis of animal diseases using laboratory and other methods;
- conducting microbiological, serological, toxicological and parasitological examinations;
- conducting clinical examinations and investigations of farm animals;
- laboratory examination of plants, plant protection products, products of plant and animal origin, and regulated articles imported into or exported from the Republic of Armenia by legal entities and individuals.
The organization’s activities are aimed at providing the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia with the laboratory testing and diagnostic tools required for its inspection and control functions.
The veterinary, food safety and phytosanitary testing laboratories of the SNCO “RVSPLSC” have been accredited by the “National Accreditation Body” State Non-Commercial Organization of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019 and are included in the Unified Register of Testing Laboratories of the Eurasian Economic Union.
For the food safety and veterinary testing scopes, the laboratories also hold international-format accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
