The Food Safety Testing Laboratory

The Food Safety Testing Laboratory conducts examinations of raw materials, water, food products (including food additives), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and other products in accordance with the requirements of the applicable technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as international standards.

The laboratory is equipped with a modern range of analytical instruments and related equipment. It is the only laboratory in the Republic of Armenia in the field of food safety operating:

  • the BacTrac 4300 rapid microbiological analysis system;
  • the DELTA isotope-ratio system for the determination of stable isotopes of light elements for the detection of cognac adulteration;
  • a multi-residue pesticide method capable of determining 89 active substances in a single testing;
  • methods for determining the quality characteristics of cognac.

The laboratory is accredited by the “National Accreditation Body” State Non-Commercial Organization of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019 and is included in the Unified Register of Testing Laboratories of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The laboratory is also accredited in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
